We are kicking things off with a dynamic string trio featuring our very own musicians: Johanne Haugland, Aine Suzuki, and Ole Eirik Ree. This exciting program truly has something for everyone, spanning three centuries—from the grandeur of the Baroque to Mozart’s genius and the passionate pulse of tango.
Baroque master Henry Purcell sets the stage with his exquisite Fantasies before we move on to Mozart. Here we encounter the 31-year-old prodigy who, despite personal challenges, composed his only work for string trio—a blend of refinement and inventiveness. You’ll also hear Mozart’s gift for turning simple themes into magic in his Duo in G Major for violin and viola.
Hungarian composer Ernst von Dohnányi stands at the intersection of the late Romantic tradition and the modernist search for new forms of expression. His Serenade shines with Hungarian-inspired tones that are both evocative and explorative.
To add another dimension to the morning, we’ll present a contemplative cello suite by Marcus Paus and dive into the driving rhythms of tango, before concluding with an aria and three variations from Bach’s timeless Goldberg Variations.
Join us for a delightful concert experience in a relaxed atmosphere—complete with complimentary coffee and pastries included in your ticket. Presented in collaboration with Sentralen, this is the perfect way to spend a late morning immersed in beautiful music.
